Popular Queries

- How long can I hire the camper for?

We have a minimum hire period of 3 days, apart from that you can hire the van for as long as you need.

- How many can sleeps in the vans?

Our campers sleep 4. There is a pop top roof that sleeps 2 and fold down seat in the rear which also sleeps 2. If you feel this may be a little cramped and need some extra room, you can hire our pop up camping shelter including tent for a small additional fee. This can be used for storage, or as an extra room for table and chairs. The attached tent sleeps 4. It is really easy to erect and can be done in minutes, especially handy if the weathers not good.

- Do I need a special license for the campers?

No, just a full valid UK or European license is needed to drive the campers.  You must have had your license for a minimum of 2 years. Many other countries licenses are also ok, such as Australia and the US, please get in touch for details.

- Are they easy to drive?

Yes, they are basically a van not much larger than a people carrier with all the usual controls you would normally have in a car.

- I have points on my license, am I still ok to hire a vehicle?

Yes, provided you have less than 6 points on your license you should be ok. Please contact us to confirm. You must not have had your license suspended or been in 2 or more accidents within the last 3 years.

- Can I use a child seat in the camper?

Yes, our rear seats have 2 x  3 point seats belts that will fit 2 child seats.

- Where can I go?

Where ever you want to within the UK and Europe.  Around the north of England there are many national parks, you could take a trip into Scotland or Wales, or have a drive to the south coast.

You must inform us if you wish to drive out of the UK as amendments must be made to the insurance policy. We will also need to supply you with compulsory items needed for EU driving

- What documents are needed?

On collection we need a copy of you full UK or European license along with 2 current forms of address i.e. bank statement or utility bills.

It is a condition of the insurance that you must present your photocard driving licence and a DVLA ‘Check Code’ at the time of collection. You will not be able to hire the vehicle until these conditions have been met.  We use this service to check someone’s driving licence information, eg the vehicles they can drive or any penalty points or disqualifications.

You can generate a ‘check code’ here on the DVLA website.

- Who can drive the vehicle?

Our tariff includes insurance for two drivers. Additional drivers can be added, for an additional fee paid by the hirer. All drivers must be between 25 and 75 years old. All drivers must have held a full UK or European driving license for a minimum of two years. Any license endorsements or at fault accidents must be declared at the time of booking. Our insurer may require additional fees or increased excesses for some endorsements or accidents.
